Emily Corinne began her obsession with the Sea as a little girl in Texas, tying her feet together with goggle straps and swimming around the pool as a mermaid. Her love for the Ocean and all creatures within led her away from Texas and into the sea. After traveling the world and sampling all its waters, She currently resides on the Gold Coast in Australia. Emily has swum on reefs all over the world and along the way discovered the connection with the Ocean that is freediving. As freedivers, we are not intruders to the marine environment, but guests. She holds a Bachelor of Science in pre-Medical Biology and a Masters of Science in Marine Biology. She is an experienced Yoga instructor and holds specialised Yoga for Freedivers & Spearos courses, incorporating the ancient breathing practices of Pranayama. She is a seasoned sailor and has over 12,000 nautical miles logged including a trans-Atlantic crossing. Emily is proud to belong to the elite group of Freediving Instructors International, completing her training with Martin Stepanek, 13-time world record holder. Emily likes to incorporate her background in Biology and Yoga to give her students the best experience possible and instill a love and respect for the capabilities of the Ocean and themselves. Look for her courses in Australia and the South Pacific!
